The platform
Why Xiaohongshu matters for your brand in 2026
For many Chinese consumers, Xiaohongshu works like a search engine for lifestyle purchases. They look up a product, read real reviews, then buy.
300M+
monthly active users
~70%
of users are women
18–35
the core age group, mostly in China’s larger cities
Sources: Rest of World (2026); Elite Asia (2026).
Chinese consumers search here before they buy
Users open Xiaohongshu to research skincare, fashion, travel, food and financial products. If your brand has no official account, notes or reviews there, you're missing at the moment people decide.
Trust comes from real users and KOLs
Posts on Xiaohongshu, called notes, come from everyday users and creators sharing what they bought and whether it worked. A few honest notes from the right creators often do more than a paid banner.
Discovery and purchase happen in one app
Brands can open an official store inside Xiaohongshu, so a user can go from reading a note to checking out without leaving the app.
It reaches Chinese-speaking audiences in Singapore and Malaysia too
Xiaohongshu is also used by many Chinese-speaking residents, students and visitors in Singapore and Malaysia. We used it to reach Singapore's Chinese community for IPPFA. RedNote has also announced RedShop, a cross-border shop for markets including Singapore and Malaysia.
What we do

Everything your brand needs on Xiaohongshu, run by one bilingual team in Singapore.
Official account setup and verification
We register your brand's official Xiaohongshu account, prepare the documents for verification and build a profile Chinese users trust.
Content strategy and bilingual production
We plan a content calendar and produce notes, carousels and short videos in Simplified Chinese, adapted from your brand materials so they read as native Chinese content.
KOL and KOC seeding
We match you with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and everyday creators (KOCs) whose followers fit your product, brief them, and track every post.
Xiaohongshu advertising
We run in-feed and search ads to put your best notes in front of more of the right users, and adjust spend based on engagement and sales.
Community management and reporting
We reply to comments and messages, encourage user reviews and send you a monthly report on followers, engagement, saves and sales.
Store setup and cross-border e-commerce
We connect your Xiaohongshu content to where customers buy: an in-app store, Tmall Global or your own cross-border channel. We did this for A.M. Skincare across Xiaohongshu and Tmall.
Regulated industries
Xiaohongshu marketing for regulated industries
Some categories on Xiaohongshu carry extra rules, both on the platform and in Singapore. Medical aesthetics, healthcare and financial advice are the strictest. We plan content, KOL partnerships and ads that stay within those rules, so your account keeps its reach.
Medical aesthetics and healthcare
Since February 2026, Xiaohongshu has banned before-and-after comparisons, patient testimonials and case showcases for medical aesthetics, and accounts need full qualification documents. Singapore's healthcare advertising rules also restrict testimonials and before-and-after images. We build education-led content on treatments, safety and what to expect, without the claims these rules forbid.
Financial planning and wealth management
Xiaohongshu's financial content code, published in September 2026, requires institutions to be licensed and verified on the platform before they market. Unlicensed investment tips, fake personas and moving users off the platform are banned. In Singapore, MAS's digital advertising guidelines make firms responsible for what their paid creators post. We plan financial education content that builds trust within both sets of rules, as we did for IPPFA.
Declared KOL partnerships
Paid collaborations with Xiaohongshu creators need to go through Pugongying (蒲公英), the platform's official creator marketplace, so every sponsored note is declared. Brands caught paying for undeclared posts face penalties, including cut traffic. We run every KOL campaign through the official route.
Claims and banned words
Absolute claims such as “best” or “100% safe” break Xiaohongshu's rules and China's advertising law, and can get notes removed or accounts limited. We check every note and ad for banned words and unsupported claims before it goes live.

FAQ
Xiaohongshu marketing in Singapore: FAQs
Can’t find your answer? Ask us on the free call.
Is RedNote the same as Xiaohongshu?
Yes. Xiaohongshu (小红书) is the app’s Chinese name. In English it is called RedNote, and it is also known as Little Red Book or XHS. It is the same platform with the same users.
Why should a Singapore brand market on Xiaohongshu?
Xiaohongshu is where many Chinese consumers research lifestyle purchases before they buy. It lets you reach shoppers in mainland China and Chinese-speaking audiences in Singapore and Malaysia, and build trust through real reviews and creator content.
Can a Singapore company open an official Xiaohongshu account?
Yes. Overseas companies can apply for an official brand account. The documents needed differ from those for companies registered in China, and we handle the application and verification for you.
How much does Xiaohongshu marketing cost in Singapore?
It depends on scope. Account setup and a monthly content plan cost far less than a full launch with KOLs and ads.
How long does Xiaohongshu marketing take to show results?
Most brands see engagement grow within one to three months of posting regularly with KOL support. A.M. Skincare grew its Xiaohongshu followers by 200% in three months. Sales depend on your product, pricing and where customers can buy.
Do I need a Chinese-speaking team to market on Xiaohongshu?
No. Our bilingual team in Singapore writes your content in Simplified Chinese, works with KOLs, replies to comments and reports to you in English.
Which industries do well on Xiaohongshu?
Beauty and skincare, fashion, wellness, food and beverage, travel, education and financial services all perform well. We have run Xiaohongshu campaigns for skincare, fashion retail and wealth management brands.
Can I get grant support for Xiaohongshu marketing?
Singapore SMEs expanding overseas may be able to fund part of the cost through Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE Grant, which replaced the MRA, EDG and PSG grants on 30 September 2026. We can check your eligibility and help with the application.
Can medical aesthetics clinics market on Xiaohongshu?
Yes, within strict rules. Since February 2026, Xiaohongshu has banned before-and-after comparisons, patient testimonials and undeclared promotions for medical aesthetics. Opening a medical aesthetics ad account also requires Chinese medical and advertising licences. Education-led content about treatments and safety works best, and we’ll tell you what your clinic can and can’t post.
Can financial advisers promote their services on Xiaohongshu?
Yes, if they follow Xiaohongshu’s financial content code. Firms must be licensed and verified on the platform before marketing, and unlicensed investment tips, fake personas and moving users off the platform are banned. Singapore firms must also follow MAS’s digital advertising guidelines, which cover content from creators they pay. Our IPPFA campaign used financial education content to build trust within these rules.
